Do you know over 2 million blog posts get published every day?
It’s a heck lot of posts & if you’re a blogger, then you’re also a part of this freaking big ocean.
Every blogger and company come up with a mindset of ranking #1 on Google, but only a few of them make the things to get happen.
Most of you know that SEO stand for Search Engine optimization but, is your blog even Search Engine Optimized? I have got a shadow of doubt on it because you’ve landed on “Search Engine Optimization Tips” web-page.
So, what’s Search Engine Optimization?
Acc. to Google, “the process of maximizing the number of visitors to a particular website by ensuring that the site appears high on the list of results returned by a search engine.”
In simple words, it’s a process where you optimize the every single element on your blog or web-pages to get it ranked higher on the Google SERPs.
Alright, so now that you know that what Search Engine Optimization is, it’s the time to get into the main content of this article, i.e.,
Search Engine Optimization Tips and Tricks
Basically, SEO is classified into two groups.
i) On-Page SEO
ii) Off-Page SEO
On Page Vs. Off Page
I’m not sure if most of you understand these two terms, so I’ll be explaining right away.
On-Page SEO refers to the process which is being used to write SEO optimized articles. In simple words, crafting the articles that meet the users and the search engine requirements so that we can rank higher on Google SERPS.
Off-Page SEO refers to all the things that you can do directly OFF your website to help you rank higher, such as social networking, outreaching, forum & blog marketing, etc. In other words, link building.
On-page SEO Tips
Your first goal should always be writing the blog posts that can help your visitors to resolve their query. But, at the same time, you need to keep in mind that Search Engine bots are not human, they can’t read.
Search bots need rich snippets and HTML tags to understand what you’re talking about and what is your targeted keyword for that particular post.
So, when you write an article that can be perceived by both humans and bots, and then your blog posts start ranking itself. So, let’s discuss and elaborate it further.
The very first and important part of on-page SEO is keyword research. If you’re not doing keyword research then, you’re most probably shooting in the dark and waiting for the things to get happened itself.
In simple words, you need to pick and write for the keywords that people are looking for and less competitive so that you can rank them quickly.
So, how to do this?
step#2 Now, click on keyword ideas tab to find some beneficial keywords. Here, I’ve got my keywords.
From Above, you can see that I’ve got some potential keywords. By optimizing the content for the keyword “Mailchimp alternatives,” I can Increase Blog Traffic if gets ranked.
Optimizing Your Keyword
Now that you’ve your keyword in the hands it’s the time to optimize that keyword within your blog post.
Why do we need to do so?
As I said earlier, search engine crawlers are not humans they’re bots, and they can’t understand what you’re talking about; what your content is about. So, in that scenario, it’s our job to make it easy for the bots to understand that what our content is about.
This is how to do it…..
Your targeted keyword, i.e., the main keyword must be included in the title tag, i.e., in the article’s headline. According to research conducted, the main keyword near to the start of the title tag ranks higher.
Here is an example from my query ‘orange juice calories’. The first title tag from ‘calorie king’ is compelling from the perspective of fulfilling the searcher’s intent. Therefore, it is ranking at the first position beating itself another article on the same keyword.
This is by far the best example since we can’t assume that one site could be of better DA & Authority that’s why that particular web-page is ranking at first position- I hope you got me.
Marketing Sherpa found that short URLs get more clicks than the longer one. They attract around 2.5x more clicks.
Therefore, it’s a good practice to keep the URL short & add the main keywords only. Brian Dean has been doing the same thing & suggests his readers to do the same thing.
I, myself add the main keyword in the permalink. It has been working great for me especially on social media like Twitter.
Here is an example of my recent update viral content model.
3-Keywords in the body
It should not surprise you, Am I right?
Yeah! I think, I’m.
This is the basic fundamental to write a blog post. Add your main keyword and secondary keywords (known as LSI keywords) within the body/post so that Google can understand what your article is about.
At the same time, try avoiding the overuse of them. As it will annoy the readers to read the same thing over and over again and you may also get hit by Google penalty. Since overusing the keyword is concerned as keyword stuffing.
The keyword density around 1-2% is ideal for an article. You can check it with the help of All in one SEO plugin by Yoast
The headlines play a significant role in the blog post ranking. Moreover, it gives better user experience to the audience which is necessary. You should target your main keyword in the headline tags (h2, h2, h3). H1 tag is used for the post title by itself so, keep in mind that in the body always start with h2 tag.
Moreover, Moz studied that use of relevant keywords in the headings helps to rank better.
5- Images and image alt attributes
Having targeted keyword in the image’s title and alt text helps to boost up your ranking on search engine especially, through Images section.
Since Google bots can’t understand the image, therefore, you should give a right title/name to the image with keyword rich alt text. I’ve attached a screenshot below that will help you to understand what I’m talking about.
6- Meta Description
Meta description is not a ranking factor, but writing a compelling meta description matters a lot. It’s like an excerpt of your whole article, and the better you write it, more the search engine clicks you get, and it helps to increase the CTR which is a ranking factor.
So, not directly, but indirectly meta description matters, and therefore you should craft magnetic met descriptions for the blog posts.
Crafting The Article
Now, we are done with the keyword research and optimization section. So the further step is to craft the article that can give you more exposure. And, for crafting such articles you need to follow the best anatomy of a blog post.
i) Content Headline:
To make your blog posts perform well in the SERPs, you need craft the intriguing blog titles. A little tweak with catchy words and you can see the tables turning in your favor.
According to Copyblogger, 80% of your visitors will read your headline – but only 20% will go on to finish the article. So, your blog titles/headlines matter a lot. A catchy headline makes more people read your content; however, a bad one sends your potential customers to your competitor’s lap.
Therefore, you should focus on crafting engaging blog titles in order to get effective results.
Let’s assume I’ve to craft a headline for keywords “fat loose programs.” Here are the few headlines I can craft to make it more effective and eye catchy to get more clicks.

2) Introduction: Your Introduction before the main punch (points) is neccessary. It helps your audience to get hooked up with your article. You must explain there that why they should read your article.
3) Your Main Points: It is your main portion of the content, it should be very descriptive. Make sure you’re relevant to the topic and answering the query of that reader. Try to elaborate the things to make the blog post outstanding.
You know, when you pour down your information in the article then, people really appreciate your work, they really do.
Now, you might get confused with the length of the article. If so, let me tell you that, Nowadays. People are crafting and talking about the article length and preaching that your article should 700 words.
Believe me, It’s all damn shit. Try to understand your niche and the topic you’re writing.
You don’t always need to craft lengthy articles. Just be up to the point and elaborate a bit to save your blog from google’s penalty.
Off-Page Search Engine Optimization Tips
You’re new to blogging. And, you just published your first SEO friendly content but are you going to outrank those big authority sites?
The answer is Hell No.
And, there is a valid reason. You’re new to the game. Those old websites are authorities, and they’ve established their relationship with the search engine. They’re the one who are publishing the content since ages. These website has got some decent Domain & Page Authorities. and your blog has got zero metrics.
So, to outrank them and make it to the first page of the Google, off-page search engine optimization comes into the play. So, let’s get started with off-page search engine optimization tips.
1) Social Networking & Social Signals
Don’t limit your blog posts to search engine only, extend it to the social media marketing sites like Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Google+, and Reddit.
Set up your profiles on these social media channels and connect with like-minded people. It will help you to get extra exposure. And from the like-minded community, you can get loyal readers even before your website hit it on the first page of Google.
And, share your content more than once for better engagement. Garrett Moon, the co-founder of CoSchedule shared an infographic that explains how your articles should be shared over the time on different-different social-media platforms.
2) Blog Commenting
Well, this is the easiest way to get the backlinks to your blog that will help you to increase the domain authority. Find the popular blogs in your niche and comment on their blog posts. As soon as it gets approved, you’ll get the backlink.
But, make sure you don’t spam. Find the relevant site and comment the genuine feedback. Some people just comment “excellent post,” but that doesn’t add the value and hence your comments don’t get approved.
Here is an example of my comment.
3) Backlinks Submission
Not all the backlinks have to be earned through excellent content. So, to pass link juice to your new blog you can submit your website to the online directories.
Search engine bots crawl the web-directories, and index the featured links in the directories. And, if your blog link is listed there then, your blog will get crawled often, and you’ll get a backlink; hence you’ll see the improvement in the SERP position.
4) Guest Blogging
Guest blogging is the best way to get the quality links. Find the authority blogs in your industry that are offering the guest blog post opportunities and after that simply mail them for permission.
To find the niche relevant websites use these codes in the search engine. These searches should lead you to a blog’s guest post guidelines page, guest post submission page, or actual guest posts submitted by other writers.
- keyword “submit a guest post”
- keyword “guest post”
- keyword “guest post by”
- keyword “accepting guest posts”
- keyword “guest post guide
5) Broken-Link Building Method
Broken Backlinking is another good way to build backlinks that too from high authority sites. Therefore, this method is very popular but at the same time, it’s time consuming. One backlink from the authority site can do wonders to your website’s SERPs & You will notice the exciting changes in your blog traffic.
So, what broken link building is?
Broken link building is a link building tactic where a marketer/blogger contacts a webmasters having a broken link on their one of the web-page.
Now, to use this tactic you’ve to find relevant sites in your niche which is pretty easy. If that’s not the case, then you can find relevant sites with these footprints.
- your keyword + links
- your keywords + resources
- keywords inurl:links
Now, visit the articles published years back (more chances of finding broken backlinks) on that website.
To find broken backlinks in an article, Install this extension ‘Check My Links‘ & run it. It will quickly give you results.
The next step in the broken link building process is creating content that matches or improves upon the broken page. After creating the article just send a message to the website owner/team.
Pitch them a well formatted & professional mail. Here is the formula I use, suggested by Brian Dean.
Hi (site owner name),
I was just browsing around your resources page today, and among the lists of great resources, were some broken links.
Here’s a few of them:
Oh, and I have a website, mysite.com, that also regularly posts quality content related to whatever. If you think so too, feel free to post a link to it on your resources page.
Either way, I hope this helps and keep up the good work!
Infographics are yet another popular & effective ways to build backlinks and increase blog traffic through referral pipelines.
Well, the answer is pretty obvious. Infographics, engage more audience because of its eye-catching design and information. Moreover, webmasters also love them & link them, and that eventually helps you gain quality backlinks.
But, yeah! They are not easy to create. They need experience & efforts. But, you can hire an infographic designer from marketing sites like Fiverr & SEOclerk.
If you’re interested in building Infographic yourself then, here are the few tips that you should keep in your mind.
- Great design. If your infographic has an eye-catching and outstanding design, you are up to a good start.
- Well researched and statistical data perform well. Infographics are a visual representation of data. A good infographic has to give useful and researched statistical data about favorite topics.
- Outreach and promote the infographic. Just like the regular content, simply by publishing an article, you won’t have much success unless you do your best to promote it.
7) Mention The Influencers & Let Them Know (Sometimes You Get Backlink)
SEO is ever-changing but, few tactics are still same & will remain same & this tactic is one of them. It helps you to establish relationships with fellow- blogger but, it also helps you to Increase the Blog Traffic (Targeted Audience)
All you’ve to do is discuss the influencers in your articles & after that, let them know that you’ve featured them in your article. Here I’m sharing the live example;

8.) Web2.0 Links – High-Quality Backlinks
Web2.0s link building is my favorite link-building. Web2.0s are the best way to get high-quality backlinks to your site, and few expired web2.0s (tumblrs) can do wonder to your ranking.
In fact, I’ve been using Web2.0s for ranking my micro niche sites and with few links, I’m able to hit up the 2nd or 3rd page.
